We offer the following volumes: Vol. 8, Amphibious Carnivora, including the Walrus and Seals, also of the Herbivorous Cetecea, &c., by Robert Hamilton; Vol. 9, Dogs: Candidae or Genus Canis of Authors, including also the Genera Hyaena and Proteles, by Chas. Hamilton Smith; Vol. 11, Marsupialia or Pouched Animals, by G. R. Waterhouse. Illustrated with 103 engraved plates, of which all but seven are beautifully hand-colored; only two engraved title-pages, the three frontis. portraits, and two other plates are uncolored. Three octavo volumes; all are complete. Once uniformly bound in quarter calf and marbled boards, with matching marbled endpapers, gilt labels at spine, and top-edges trimmed and gilt; however, the boards and backstrip of Vol. 11 are detached. Regarding Vols. 8 and 9, their spines are sunned and the leather and boards are heavily rubbed and very worn. Armorial bookplate at front patedown of each volume. Vol. 8 has negligible intermittent foxing throughout; the other volumes are mostly clean internally, despite light foxing of initial and closing leaves.
