A collection of ten minstrel skits and routines. Minstrel shows were a form of entertainment most popular during the early nineteenth century in the United States. The shows depicted negative stereotypes of black people mostly through the performances of white actors in blackface, but a few troupes had African-American actors. By the early twentieth century, minstrel shows had decreased in popularity due to the emergence of vaudeville. Minstrel shows had a further decrease in popularity with the civil rights movement..
