From 1861 to 1867 he attended the gymnasium at Kromerķ˛, Moravia, where he studied the Bible and Talmud with Jacob Brüll, rabbi of Kojetķn, and with the latter's son Nehemiah. ” (Wikipedia, 2016) Kaufmann was a prolific and influential thinker who wrote on many subjects including Philosophy of Religion, Art, and Jewish History. This was one of his last published works.
