Founded by Fritz Mordechai Kaufmann (1888-1921) , it was the only German-Jewish periodical to represent a 'pan-Judaic' approach, distinguishing it both from liberal and Zionist Judaism in Germany at that time. Was a forum for political, religious and sociological discussions about Judaism. Features prominent writers such as Elsa Lasker Schüler, Chaim Nachman Bialik, Borochov, and numerous others.
