Knopf (b. 1892, d. 1984) and the co-founder with him of the publishing house that bears his name (1915). In this letter to the Seattle, Washington author James Stevens (b. 1892, d. 1971) Mrs. Knopf congratulations Stevens on his engagement and writes that she is looking forward to seeing his next manuscript, which she intends tio edit herself. Stevens wrote a number of books on Paul Bunyan. Mrs. Knopf closes by writing that she hopes and expects that his next Bunyan title will sell better than the previous one has.. Manuscript.
