Signed in ink "To Mary S--- Best Always, Otto Kruger", in the photo he is smoking a pipe and looks as though he is in his late forties. Kruger was an American movie actor during the 1920s through the 1960s. His most famous roles were Chained (1934) where he played a lead role and later Magnificent Obsession (1954) where he played the villain. He was a relative to Paul Kruger, President of South Africa.
