Oklahoma City, Okla, 1933) . Southern Baptist medical missionary to Nigeria, Lockett served at Abeokuta, Oyo, and Ogmomosho. He was distinguished for his work in mission schools, in training national leaders, in clinics and hospitals, and in a leper colony.His first wife, Josie Still, a classmate at Baylor University, died in 191 1, less than a year after their arrival in Africa, and in 1915 he married Elkin Lightfoot. While studying at Baylor, Lockett was one of the six founders of a foreign mission band, the Covenanters, out of which later grew the Baptist Student Union (Source: Joseph Martin Dawson.
