Joseph Lofthouse, Sr. (1855-1933) was a Canadian Anglican bishop. Lofthouse describes his personal experiences in the Hudson Bay region of Canada. He gives his observations about the local people, including members of Indigenous tribes and missionaries; the scenery and animals such as polar bears; and different modes of transportation including kayaking, canoeing, and snowshoeing.
