As issued. The announcement of the sale and contract signed by the successful bidder James Morris and witnessed by George Washington (G.W.) Bleecker. Morris purchased a lot with an alleyway behind just off Center Square on Broadway near Chambers Street. The purchase price was $3,330.. James Morris was the son of American landowner and developer Lewis Morris, who was a signer of U.S. Declaration of Independence as a delegate to the Continental Congress from New York. G.W. Bleecker, MYS Assemblyman, was the son of Leonard Bleeker, Revolutionary War veteran, NYS Assemblyman, and personal friend of General George Washington. The document also contains several restrictive covenants about construction on or near the square., Very Good
