Original publisher's black and white wrapper with two reprinted black and white photographs on the front cover showing machinery related to the production of sugar including "the crystallizers in which sugar crystals are formed by a slow movement of molasses for a short period" and "drier and granulator where the damp sugar from the centrifugals is dried by passing through hot air and over a screen." 11 1/4" x 15 1/2." Pages 385-400, complete. Black and white illustrations and advertisements throughout magazine, complete. Pages are very clean and intact but loose. Some chipping at the spine. Pages 399-400 have a closed tear measuring about 5" but text is still readable. The Pacific Rural Press was a major agricultural journal that was published between the mid-nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Many of the articles give information and advice on the different parts of the agricultural industry.
