He is perhaps best-known for his biographies of Mark Twain. Paine was also a member of the Pulitzer Prize Committee. This book is a travelogue that chronicles Paine's trout-fishing excursion in Nova Scotia which he undertook with Dr. Edward "Eddie" Breck and guides Charles "the Strong" Charlton and Del "the Stout" Thomas in the early 1900s.
