4to - over 9? - 12" tall. 3 volumes in browned buckram cloth, top edge gilt, gilt titled spines, insect damage visible to surface of the buckram to all 3 vols. appears as lighter part of the cloth where surface layer of pigment has been lost etc. untrimmed edges shows some foxing, light foxing to prelims. 14 plates all with tissue guads. occasional minor foxing. xlvi, 240 + x, 265 + xi, 307pp. nice edition with large borders. engraved illustrations by Louis Chalon. Urquhart published his translation of the first two books in 1633; Motteux added the third in 1693, based on Urquhart's papers, and translated the fourth and fifth book himself in 1708.
