Envelope: 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch stamped and postmarked 15 August 1938 from Barrow, Alaska and addressed to Mr. Newell D. Voss, Brownsville, Texas. Humorist Will Rogers (1879-1935) and aviator Wiley Post (1889-1935) both perished in a airplane crash near Point Barrow in Alaska. Three years later, a memorial was placed at the site, financed by national subscription. This is a letter sent to those subscribers, signed by the business manager Wilmar F. Sims.
