The copy boldly inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to an un-named recipient, and dated the year after publication. 8vo. 495pp. Blue cloth lettered in gold at the spine. Photographic portrait frontispiece. The edges spotted and the backstrip cloth lightly toned. A little spotting to the front free endpaper, half-title and to occasional leaf margins. A small slit to the inner front gutter, and a touch of surface abrasion to the front free endpaper, seemingly from the careful erasure of several pencilled notes. A little toning to the margins of the slightly lesser quality paperstock. Quite a nice, bright copy in toned and dust soiled dust wrapper, with several tiny slivers of loss from the spine ends and corner tips. Laid-in is a small related 16mo pamphlet 'My Encounter with Sir Henry Wood' by Eileen Scott ("Proceeds in aid of cancer Funds").
