The book has been professionally re-cased in green cloth over board with the original front panel overlaid and gilt titling applied to the spine band. The paperblock edges have been trimmed during the re-casing. Ribbon band at head and tail of the paperblock. Ownership detail to second end paper. All pages and plates are present although plate indexed at 'facing page 160' has been bound in at facing page 434. This plate has a crease fold and the bottom corner slightly chipped. There has been some minor tape repair to closed tears on some pages (preface, 49, 70, 71, 82, 128 plate,289, 465). The tape is thin and acid free and is barely perceptible.
