7 3/4 x 10 inches. No place or date (but New York city and circa late 1930's). Mia Slavenska (b. 1916, d. 2002) was a Croation-born American prima ballerina. She came to the U.S. in 1937, dancing with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, 1938-42 and with her own company Ballet Variante, 1947-52 as well as the Slavenska Franklin Ballet Company, 1950-55. This publicity photograph is inscribed to Salvatore Capezio (b. 1871, d. 1940) wan Italian American shoemaker who had a shop on Broadway and who catered to dance performers. Miss Slavenska thanks Capezio for "his beautiful toe dancing shoes.". Ephemera. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: No Binding
