Portfolio. [4] pages. [16] folio sized unbound cardstock pages. 43 cm. A collection of decorative illustrations based on liturgical and biblical quotes. Sixteen works on large cardstock by Czech painter, etcher, and designer Steiner-Prag. The illustrations are housed in a cardstock folder with information about the artist and the Machzor as well as an index of the cards. The folder is encased in a sturdy blue-grey portfolio. The artist, Steiner-Prag, contributed notably to the improvement of book production-typography, binding, jacket, and was known for his illustrations to the classics. This Machzor is considered his crowning achievement; the original drawings are now at the Leo Baeck Institute in New York. “A Publication of the Society of Jewish Bibliophiles presented to its members by Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Hiatt on the occasion of the marriage of their daughter Myra Nathalie to Mr. Robert Kenneth Kraft [current owner of the New England Patriots! ] Worcester, Massachusetts.
