The notebook style diary is about 2/3rds full with entries that provide a rare insight to the feelings, thoughts and issues a teenage girl goes through such as first loves, parental strife, secret desires, poetry, etc. At times supremely sad, we read how she feels fat and at one point she so beseechingly wishes to not be fat by losing 5 pounds so that she can be 103 pounds again as she was in Grade 9. Boys dump her, ditch her, disrespect her and ultimately drive her to a distraction totally undeserved. One can only shake one's head wondering how a basically good hearted, sincere, cute girl suffers such indignities and then one realizes that most teenagers suffer some typical degree and hopefully she found her love and success beyond her teenage years.
