In 1968 this edition of the Central Highlands represented the first totally new guide book since the Scottish Mountainerring Club began publishing its District series.The area described has been expanded to include in detail the important centres and groups of Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Fort William, Ben Nevis and the Mamore Forest; and indeed the entire region - one of the most popular holiday venues in Scotland - is presented comprehensively and with completely (then 1979) up-to-date information.
