Fold Lines, 2 purple "Canceled" stamps dated April 11, 1894, five S-shaped punch holes and five round. No. 50804, this certificate was originally issued to Charles G. Dobbs on March 27, 1894. Signatures obscured by punch holes. Mr. Dobbs transferred 30 shares to Jud T. Lee and 20 shares to A.J. Lawrence, both of 60 Broadway, on April 9, 1894. The New York and New England Railroad was chartered by a special act of the Massachusetts Legislature on April 17, 1873, to reorganize the bankrupt Boston, Hartford and Erie Railroad. It ran from 1873 to 1895 and provided transportation from New York to Hartford, Connecticut, Providence, Rhode Island and Boston, Massachusetts.
