Original beige paper with black and gilt ink printed on front and green and black ink printed on back. 10 3/4" x 8 1/4." Certificate was folded in half vertically but is very clean and intact overall. Decorative borders on front and back. Front shows a black and white illustration of men panning for gold in a river running through a forest landscape. "Number 42" printed in upper-left corner. "5000" written under "Shares" in upper-right corner. Embossed gilt seal in lower-left corner. "Capital Stock $100,000. 1,000,000 Shares, Fully Paid and Non-Assessable. Shares 10c Each." The following is printed at the top: "Incorporated Under the Laws of Nevada, April 9, 1920." This stock certificate was issued to H. L. Cole for 5,000 shares in the River of Gold Company. Certificate reads, "This Certifies that H. L. Cole is the owner of Five thousand Shares of the Capital Stock of River of Gold Company transferable only on the Books of the Corporation in person or by Attorney on surrender of this Certificate. In Witness Whereof the duly authorized officers of this Corporation have hereunto subscribed their names and caused the corporate Seal to be hereto affixed this second day of May A.D. 1921.
