This railway began as the Fort Madison and North Western Railway in 1879, went into receivership in 1885, and was eventually reorganized as the Chicago, Fort Madison and Des Moines Railroad Company in 1899. At its height, this railroad ran from Fort Madison to Ottumwa, Iowa. It merged with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad Company in 1901.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-As New.
