Haynes, "History of the Disciples of Christ, 1819-1914" Parker Stockdale presided over the Jackson Blvd. Church in Cook County, Illinois. In his book, Haynes writes that Stockdale was "brave and beloved" and "fell on the front line of battle." Stockdale also served in both Aurora, Illinois and Independence, Missouri.. Book.
