The edges, backstrip, endpapers, a dozen preliminary leaves and several concluding leaves spotted, and with a little occasional marginal spotting throughout. Former owner name inked to the head of the front free endpaper. A good copy in good non-price-clipped dust wrapper featuring a striking design by the author, somewhat rubbed and chafed at the edges and natural folds, and with a little marking and one short biro mark to the rear panel. The author's second book, recounting his Second World War experiences (Berlin originally registered as a conscientious objector, but later renounced that position, joining the Army and taking part in the D-Day landings as a Forward Observer in France, Holland and Belgium)..
