The front shows what appears to be a schooner race under a fair sky and a number of seagulls and the rear a gull diving into the sea in search of small fishes.The previous owners gift inscription is written neatly on the inside front cover.The pictorial boards are bright and clean due to the light brown paper covers..The paper covers are almost detached and show the title and copy of the front picture in a halftone,together with the name of the publisher of Hodder and Stoughton and Willard Tract Depository, Toronto.There is a rubber stamp of the seller a John Howarth of 241 Yonge Street, Toronto.From Longfellows September and Bryant October and Henry Kirke White April to Mrs. Hemans May all beautifully illustrated.All are quite vivid and appear to be coloured.
