Original card game, Derby Day, in original white cardboard slipcase and sliding box. Contains cards, instructions, and red and black numbered chips (circular cardboard discs). Complete except for three missing black chips (numbers 10, 20, and 30). Forty-eight cards in two suits (red and black) of twenty-four each, with color illustrations, complete. Outer slipcase features a blue and white illustration on front and back of a jockey on horseback. Interior sliding box is dual-compartment (smaller beige box within this one) and holds the cards and chips. Box measures 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 1 1/2." Cards measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2." Instructions are the same size as the cards but fold open. Box, forty-eight cards, forty-five chips, and instructions, complete, except for three missing chips. Cards are virtually pristine and intact. Chips or discs have slight edge wear and surface chipping but are clean and intact overall. Slipcase and box have the most wear with splitting at the edges, surface chipping, and slight age toning. Back of interior box is very loose. Former owner's signature in black ink on underside of interior sliding box. A Very Good copy. Derby Day simulates a horse race in which players try to get their "horses" (as represented by their cards) back "Home." For two or more players. Players keep track of their horses or cards by holding the numbered discs that match their cards. Each player has one suit color, black or red. A player's horse moves clockwise around the group until it reaches a player with another suit. That horse or card is then placed at the bottom of the other player's pile where it stopped.
