1947 Photo-Album. For some, the Salvation Army is their way of life -- photos of so many friends & families, at ease, in the Salvation Army summer camp/retreat in Ontario -- folks of all ages play in numerous brass bands -- and are seen enjoying each other's company in the summer of 1947. The Salvation Army was begun in 1865 in East London - its members preached and lived a practical Christianity ('soup, soap & salvation').
