Lewis, a 75ish year old man [he and his wife celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary! during the trip], with some friends making an extended road trip from Buena Vista New York to New Mexico and stops on the way fossil hunting in 1988 through 1990. This intriguing, detailed journal describes the trip intimately until the fossil excavations which becomes much more scientific. There are many excellent hand drawn illustrations of their fossil finds. Interestingly Thomas includes a pre trip diary of two pages and he discusses their sales and successes selling at flea markets. There are also extensive financial data off costs of the trip.
