U.G.-22--'16. 641 + 20 + 57 + 54pp. This is the important section of the Report which contains all the evidence before the Commission. On 19 June 1913, The Native Land Act (No: 27) was passed In August, The Native Land Commission (also known as the Beaumont Commission) was proclaimed and Sir William Beaumont appointed as its head. The commission was tasked with finding land and defining boundaries for territorial segregation between black and white people. In March 1916, The Beaumont Commission submitted its report outlining boundaries and recommending which areas were to be allocated to white people and which ones were to be allocated to black people. Thus the roots of the future Apartheid policy became laid down, leading to dispossession of black-owned land.
