Three-quarter brown calf, grey cloth sides, patterned endpapers. 'Yale Pamphlets' and 'E. R. Beardsley' gilt-stamped to spine. This volume is offered with all faults: Leather is rubbed at joints and quite dry, with the top board detached, and cloth is faded. Text leaves are damp-stained throughout having a faint tide- lines along top- and bottom-edges. One leaf in the fifth pamphlet has loss along the fore-edge just touching the type, but without loss of text. The bookblock is sound; and, despite the dampstaining, the text is quite readable and the paper does not smell.
