She worked with a variety of media and also made silhouettes and designs for stained glass windows. Andrews studied with William Merritt Chase, the notable Impressionist painter and founder of the Chase School, which became the Parsons School of Design. Scraps of Paper centers upon historical events in the United States from about 1860 to World War I and contains transcriptions of the titular "scraps," which are Andrews's personal recollections and existing manuscripts from members of her family and other historical figures. The first chapter is about slavery in the United States. What follows is a compilation of manuscripts from her relatives including her Aunt Ida, Uncle Hal, and Charles Minnigerode. Correspondence from other historical figures are also included such as those written by Robert E. Lee and Kate Powell. There is a chapter about Confederate flags and seals. The last chapter talks about World War I, the war's infamous trenches, and WWI hospitals. Notably, Andrews's sister, Lucy Minnigerode (1871-1935), was a WWI nurse and founder of the United States Public Health Service Nursing Corps.. Illustr.: Andrews, Marietta Minnigerode. Book.
