Paginated 800-page record plus unpaginated title page and alphabetical index in front (circa fifty-four pages). Pages are very clean and intact except for age toning and the small occasional mark. Covers are clean and intact overall, but there is significant chipping to spine and front outer joint, moderate edge wear, darkening and slight soiling to front and back, light rubbing, and shallow surface scratches. Front outer joint is loosened but holding, else binding is tight. A Good copy. An original holograph record of Albert J. Bell's watch repair business in Southern California kept from July 1939-December 1964. Bell did repairs for some of the largest stores in Beverly Hills and Hollywood including Saks Fifth Avenue (of Beverly Hills), the Beverly Silver Shop, and The Broadway (of Hollywood). The record also includes private customers. Information is handwritten in ink and pencil. This book begins with a printed title page noting the publisher (C. E. Marshall & Co.) and designer of the book (John H. Purdy). The title is then followed by an alphabetical index for locating clients listed within the record. The index has fill-in spaces for writing clients' names and the corresponding page number (or numbers) on which they are listed. Part of the alphabetical index is filled in. The 800-page record follows the alphabetical index. The record has fill-in spaces for writing transactional information such as the date, client's name, and description and cost of the repair.
