The half-title page has been inscribed by the author thus:"With best thanks for your kindness in sending me "Souls in Bondage" Stephen Black. 20/8/29."It is quite cocked and the boards are shelf-rubbed and edge-worn. Only the front panel of the dust jacket has survived and is adhered to the front board, although it is rather torn at the edges. The back board is quite creased. Internally, the pages are rather tanned, particularly along the edges, and there is a blue ink price marking on the front end page. Aside from this, the pages within are clean and complete.
