Rene Cloke (active from 1943).Born Irene Mabel Neighbour Cloke 1905,in Plymouth,Devon.Worked as Rene Cloke and was a postcard and greeting card designer,and as an author and illustrator of stories for very young children.Her work has been published principally by the Medici Society,Dixons,Wheaton,Blackie,Collins, Dean, Ward Lock and Warne.Works in black and white line or full colour,mainly depicting nursery animals and pixies.
During World War II,Rene worked for the British War Office as a tracer,producing maps from photographs for use by the Royal Air Force.
