It is rather shelf-rubbed and edge-worn, and the binding is cocked. The corners of the boards are knocked inwards and are torn and frayed. The spine is discoloured, and the cloth at the top and bottom edges is beginning to tear and fray as well. This does not affect the silver gilt on the spine, which remains bright despite the book's condition. Internally, the front-end page has been removed. There is a very small red marking and a scar in the paper of the front pastedown. There is some slight surface damage to the title page. The back end page has a blue ink marking on it, and both the back end page and paste down are a touch tanned. Internally, there is some sporadic marking throughout.
