Duyckinck (1816-1878) was an American publisher and biographer. A graduate of Columbia College and editor for several journals and co-author with his brother of CYCLOPEDIA OF AMERICAN LITERATURE (1855). He was a prolific writer and reviewer. Duyckinck assisted Edgar A. Poe in assembling 'Tales', issued 'Irvingiana' upon Washington Irving's death, and knew most of the leading literary figures of New York during the 1840s & 1850s.
