Original publisher's red cloth binding. No date, circa 1933. 7 3/4" x 11." 676 pages, complete. Many black and white illustrations, complete. Pages and covers are very clean and intact. Slight corner and edge wear, mostly at the head and tail of spine. Former owner's inscription is written in black ink on the front pastedown: "James K. Hoey, March 13, 1935." A stamp in the margin of the title page is datelined November 10, 1933 in Oregon and confirms Hoey as a "Registered Professional Engineer." This is a catalog of various machine tools. The prices and specifications of each item are given. The catalog includes saws, mandrels, chasers, and fittings, among many others. C. W. Marwedel was founded in 1846 by its namesake. Marwedel had immigrated to San Francisco, California in 1856 and opened his shop there which originally specialized in optical and electrical devices. Over the years, Marwedel expanded his stock to carry a wider range of machine tools and supplies. In 1928 or 1929, Marwedel moved the business to Oakland. Marwedel made it through the Great Depression and World War II but eventually sold his store to Gerrit Supply in Los Angeles in 1955.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Soft cover
