The book is grubby and shabby, but retains a gentle exuberance of an aged hunter turning out on Boxing Day. The boards are much worn, scuffed, rubbed, marked. It is sturdy and resolute. Within, the frontispage is missing. The pages are much marked from use and storage. They have wear.
