Wrappers rather sunned and fragile, with disintegration to head and tail of backstrip; postage stamp-sized piece of white paper adhering to inside of upper wrapper; regular light browning throughout, as usual; barcode label to title page. Good condition. The reports are divided into eight sections, the first dealing with the Cape Colony exclusive of Bechuanaland and the Transkeian Territories, the second with British Bechuanaland, the third with Transkei, Tembuland, Port St. John's and Pondoland, the fourth with Griqualand East, and the fifth with Statistics, the sixth with Native Labour, and the seventh with the Glen Grey Act and Proclamation thereunder, and the eighth with Walfish Bay. Matters covered include recovery of hut tax, treatment of stock disease, labour supply, liquor regulations, and the general behaviour and health of the native population.
