Carman, L. D : The Other White House: An Illustration of the Unreliability of History Concerning Abraham Lincoln

Original publisher's brown cloth binding. January 1926. 5 1/8" x 8." Pages are very clean. A pristine, fine copy. Four pages, complete. In this brief pamphlet, L. D. Carman refers to a sensational news story to show how not all stories concerning Abraham Lincoln are accurate. On February 11, 1923, The Washington Star published an article of a woman who claimed to have eloped with her husband in the White House during the Lincoln administration. Carman refutes the story by showing how the couple married at a place called the White House Hotel. From Monaghan, the Lincoln Bibliography, no. 2839: "Exposure of the facts concerning an alleged wedding in the White House. The ceremony seems to have been held in the White House Hotel, Georgetown.". Book. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: Soft cover
