Original letter handwritten in black ink on beige paper. Letter on stationery of the San Vicente Mining Company. Printed header at the top. Written and signed by the company secretary, John A. Chesnut as "J. A. Chesnut." Datelined December 28, 1917 in San Francisco, California. 8 1/2" x 10 3/4." One page. Letter is very clean and intact except for a few horizontal and vertical fold lines, slight age toning, and moderate wrinkling throughout. Text and handwriting are still very clean and readable. A Very Good copy. A letter from John A. Chesnut, secretary of the San Vicente Mining Company, to Frank F. Heston of Oakland, California. The letter is about financial and legal matters concerning a property. The letter reads, "My dear Frank:-In regard to the Vineyard opposite Folsome [sic?]--An offer of 4500 $ has been made & is to be placed before the Court 'Some [--?]'--So I guess we had better let it go--we can't afford to go on an auction. Sincerely, J. A. Chesnut." The printed header reads, "San Vicente Mining Company, Room 812, Crocker Building, No. 620, Market Street." Also printed at the top are the officers' names and titles, "A. G. Folger, President; H. K. Waterhouse, Vice-President; John A. Chestnut, Secretary." The locations of the company's mines are also printed at the top: "Locations of Mines: San Vicente, District of San Ignacio, Sinaloa, Mexico.". Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
