Original brochure on white paper containing an advertisement for a book. Blank order form printed on the last page. No date, circa 1953. 6" x 9." Four pages, complete. One leaf folded in half and printed on all sides. Two black and white reprinted photographs, complete. On the last page, "Seattle Printing & Publishing Company" is printed at the bottom. Brochure is very clean and intact overall. One horizontal fold line at center. Carl Starker graduated from Oregon State College's Agriculture Department as a horticulturist in 1914. Starker went on to become a renowned floral designer and open his own general nursery in Jennings Lodge, Oregon. One of the photographs shows Carl Starker at work making a floral arrangement. The other shows a completed arrangement by Starker. This brochure advertises Starker's book, Album of Arrangements, published by the Chieftain Press. The ad describes some of the book's features and includes a brief biography of Starker. Excerpt describing the book: "Here in one amazing volume in more than 200 black and white photographs and twenty-four prize-winning, four-color plates, is a one-man exhibit by a great artist, lecturer, and arranger.
