Gray-brown cloth binding. No lettering on spine. Faint embossed decoration on front cover. Interior pages are made of gray paper. Inscription on front pastedown: "To Cora, From Mr. Brightwell." Some photos are dated 1916 or 1917; the rest are undated, c. 1910s. Album: 7 1/4" x 4 3/4." Unpaginated, ten leaves have at least one tipped-in photograph. Many of the album leaves are blank and unused. Thirty black-and-white photographs. Some of the photos were removed; album sold as is. One of the removed photos has a caption identifying the subject as Howard Webb. Pages are clean and intact overall except for light age toning and a few wrinkles. Covers are clean and intact overall but have moderate rubbing, age toning, and a few creases. Photographs are clean and intact overall except for slight age toning, a few wrinkles, and the small occasional mark. A Very Good copy. An original photo album kept by a young woman identified only as Cora who, at the time, was likely a high school or college student in her teens or early twenties. There are thirty photos, c. 1910s, and one additional modern color photo laid in. The photos are principally portraits of different people in California cities such as Riverside and Torrance. If other locations are depicted, they are likely in Southern California. Nineteen of the thirty photos have identifying captions. The captions read, "Ethel Vining, March 1917," "Lena Lotz, Apr. 28, '16," "Elnora," "Gertrude Willey, Ruby Shrewsbury," "Cora, Elsie, and Gladys, Riverside, Calif.," "Blanderia Scott, 1917," "George Means, 1916," "Helen Noble, Millard Wilton, 'Hiking,'" "Hollace Shaw," "Howard Webb, Torrance," "7th Period Expression Class, 1917," "Eugene & Edna," "Elsie's Birthday (7 Years Old)," "'Peg [?],' Mildred Wilton, 1917," "Bernice Miller, Al Reinke [?]," "'The Bunch,'" "At N-- Slew," "Ethel Vining, Lena Lotz, Florence Hinman [?], Madge Lisso [?]," and "Uncle John, Edna, and Aunt Jennie, Riverside.".
