Original blank order form printed on beige paper. No date, circa 1891-1910s. 6" x 9 3/4." One page, complete. Order form is very clean and intact overall. Paper has slight wrinkling at the edges, a fold line running between the left and right edges, and a few small closed tears on the right edge. The terms are "50 cents per year; 25 cents for six months. Remit by Postal Note, Money Order, Registered Letter, or Draft on New York or Philadelphia." The Ladies' Home Journal was founded in 1883 and was originally called The Ladies' Home Journal and Practical Housekeeper. The Ladies' Home Journal had been adapted from a supplement called Women at Home in the magazine, Tribune and Farmer. Women at Home had been written by Louisa Knapp Curtis, who was the wife of the Cyrus H. K. Curtis, founder of the Curtis Publishing Company. Knapp also became editor of the Ladies' Home Journal. The Ladies' Home Journal was published until 2016. The Curtis Publishing Company was founded in 1891. It oversaw several publications including The Saturday Evening Post, The American Home, and The Country Gentleman. It still operates to this day as a licensing firm.. Ephemera.
