Circa early 1800s. 12 x 10 map on 14 x 13 paper. Multiple fold lines, small tears and chips on edges, not affecting map. Some ink transfer due to being folded. Jean Baptiste d'Anville (1697-1782) was a geographer and cartographer who greatly improved the standards of map-making. He was known for his meticulous research. This map was originally drawn for Charles Rollin's "Ancient History". It is a very detailed map covering Asia Minor (present day Turkey) and the Black Sea. This particular map is Plate XII from an English translation of "Ancient History", sculpted by R. W. Seale.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
