Jean Baptiste d'Anville (1697-1782) was a geographer and cartographer who greatly improved the standards of map-making. He was known for his meticulous research. This map was originally drawn for Charles Rollin's "Ancient History". It is a very detailed map covering Asia Minor (present day Turkey) and the Black Sea.
