The Abbé Pierre François Guyot-Desfontaines (1685 in Rouen – 16 December 1745 in Paris) was a French journalist, translator and popular historian. He translated Swift's Gulliver's Travels. This "Nouveau Gulliver" is a spurious work, claiming to be a continuation. It achieved some popularity in the 18th century as a work of imaginative fiction.
