One black-and-white illustration of example books in the "One-by-One Edition" series, complete. Pages are virtually pristine and intact except for minuscule age toning. Covers are very clean and intact except for slight wear to extremities, light rubbing, a few tiny wrinkles, and slight fading. A Very Good copy. This is a promotional booklet advertising the "One-by-One Edition" of novels by Booth Tarkington. Introductory text announces the publication of Tarkington's latest novel, Little Orvie (1934), and commends his talent and career. The booklet also describes how there are plans to add more titles to the "One-by-One Edition." Following the introductory text is a list of novels (with brief summaries) that are currently published in the One-by-One Edition: Gentle Julia, The Magnificent Ambersons, The Plutocrat, Alice Adams, and Monsieur Beaucaire. In the back is a list of works by Tarkington. Booth Tarkington (1869-1946) was an American novelist, playwright, and politician. He is perhaps best-known for his novels, The Magnificent Ambersons (1918) and Alice Adams (1921). To date, Tarkington remains one of only four authors to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction more than once. Tarkington also served one term in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1902-1903..
