Pages are very clean and intact overall but have age toning, a few wrinkles and dog-eared folds, and slight edge wear. Covers are clean and intact overall but have a large chip measuring 3/4" x 3/4" in upper-left corner on front and spine, chipping in upper-right corner on back (small piece looks about to separate), faint dampstaining at bottom on front, and slight darkening throughout. Dr. Miles Laboratories was a company that was founded in 1884 as the Dr. Miles Medical Company by Dr. Franklin Lawrence Miles, a medical specialist who treated eye and ear disorders. The company produced both medicines and patent medicines. Among Miles Laboratories' products were Dr. Miles Nervine, Alka-Seltzer, and One-A-Day vitamins. The company changed its name in 1932 to Dr. Miles Laboratories and again in 1935 to Miles Laboratories. Miles Laboratories operated independently from its founding until 1979 when it became a subsidiary of Bayer AG. From 1979-1995, Bayer AG was the parent company of Miles Laboratories.
