Beige paper wrappers with string binding. Pages may be missing in front and back; sold as is. The front half is a check register for the Dream Theatre with the National Bank of Commerce. The latter half is a scrapbook with handwritten text and tipped-in newspaper clippings. 1912-c. 1916 (check register is from 1912-1913; scrapbook is mostly undated but has at least one newspaper clipping from 1916). 5 1/2" x 12." Unpaginated, c. 120 pages. Pages are clean and intact overall but have light age toning throughout, minuscule soiling throughout, chipping at the edges with minimal loss of text, dog-eared corners on fore-edge, the small occasional stain, and an ink stain at top edge affecting a small amount of text. A Very Good copy. An original check register for the Dream Theatre and scrapbook. The check register comprises about the first half of the book and is with the National Bank of Commerce from 1912-1913. Most of the entries in the check register are numerical figures. The latter half of the book is a scrapbook containing miscellanea such as handwritten cooking recipes, newspaper clippings, and interspersed financial information. The clippings feature cooking recipes as well as articles about agriculture and home maintenance. A few of the pages denote the register as being for the Dream Theatre with a purple "Dream Theatre" stamp in the top margins. The Dream Theatre was a silent movie theater in Seattle, Washington that was founded by theater manager James Q. Clemmer (1881-1942). According to some sources, the Dream Theatre was the first theater in the United States to have an organ. A nine-rank Estey organ was installed in the Dream Theatre in 1908.
