Original billhead with printed text and handwriting in black ink on blue paper. Datelined March 6, 1865 in San Francisco, California. 8 1/2" x 14." Billhead is clean and intact overall, but there is light to moderate age toning, a few small smudges and stains, three horizontal fold lines, and a split extending along almost the entire length of the uppermost fold line (upper portion of paper is barely holding). A Good copy. An original billhead from Edward S. Spear (corrected to "Edward S. Spear & Co." with "& Co." handwritten in ink) to "Mr. Simons." The printed header reads, "Account of Sales, Furniture, for account of Mr. Simons, By Edward S. Spear [& Co.], Auctioneer, No. 433 California Street." There are about twenty-four line items with the name of the item listed with its accompanying price. Among the line items are "1 Comfort," "1 Chair," "3 Shades," "1 Bedstead & Spring Matt," "1 Damask Curtain," "1 Straw Matt," and "1 Mahog Bedstead & Matt.". Ephemera.
